| A 2-storey row house comprising a café on the ground and first floors and living quarters for the owner on the top floor. It is a ferroconcrete frame construction with brickwork infill. The smooth plane of the fronts is interrupted by an entrance and subtly framed windows of a simple character. Both the windows and the entrance create a perfectly balanced geometric composition. The architect's personal regard for the neoplasticism of the Dutch group De Stijl resulted in the use of a combination of 2 and 3-dimensional elements, colour and light — thereby achieving an intimate atmosphere for the interior. |
